Back in January, Google announced that Wear OS 3 devices would soon be able to unlock Android phones/tablets or Chromebooks. According to the latest information found by 9To5Google, the feature is expected to debut on the Pixel Watch.

In the latest update to Google Play Services to buy app reviews beta version 22.22, 9To5Google has forced a new settings page for “Smart Unlock”, which says “As long as your watch is ‘unlocked, worn on your wrist and close to your phone’, it will automatically unlock your Android phone.”

Google unveiled the Pixel Watch at its I/O conference with a sleek and sophisticated look that is expected to launch alongside the Pixel 7 series of smartphones. The watch is said to be powered by a Samsung Exynos 9110 processor with 1.5 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM storage, as well as a co-processor called Arm M33, and a battery capacity of about 300 mAh.
