Nothing’s first Android smartphone, the Nothing Phone (1), will be released in global markets on July 12, 2022, and the company has now confirmed that the Nothing Phone (1) will be produced locally in India.
The Nothing Phone (1) sold in India will be produced in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, according to details shared with the Economic Times by Nothing VP and General Manager Manu Sharma.

Manu said the Nothing Phone (1) was the “real” start of the brand’s journey, and it made sense for Nothing to manufacture the Nothing Phone (1) locally, given the importance of the Indian market to the brand. In addition, whistleblower Mukul Sharma revealed that production of the phone has reportedly started at a factory in Tamil Nadu, but the battery will be imported from China.

It is reported that Nothing Phone (1) is used with a 6.55-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, has a 50-megapixel main camera, and will likely be powered by a 4500mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging via a USB Type-C charging port.
